Designer

Pay Range: $18.00 - $25.50 Purpose: Floor & Decor Designers provide a seamless start‑to‑finish consultative design service that builds lasting relationships and brand loyalty with the customers we serve. Minimum Eligibility Requirements Minimum of one (1) year of interior design experience or prior retail/sales experience. Degree in Design is a plus. Knowledge of hard surface flooring is a plus. Proficient in basic mathematical skills. Self‑motivated and able to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills. Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suite. Internal candidates must have 12 months of experience in a design consultant position. Essential Functions Greet store customers in a helpful manner and support store design walk‑in needs. Schedule design appointments for existing and potential customers, developing clientele through networking, referrals, and in‑store leads. Provide tile, wood, stone, and accessories advice to homeowners, interior designers, and builders for both residential and commercial projects. Design and sell complete, functional, and aesthetically appealing solutions. Manage multiple, simultaneous customer projects through all phases with a high level of accuracy, timeliness, and follow‑up, including consistent and concise communication to customers and others. Use company communication tools and emails consistently and effectively. Collaborate with store leadership and employees to manage projects from inquiry to installation, achieving sales and other goals. Enthusiastically support all company initiatives and goals by modeling and coaching best practices with store employees. Engage in current and emerging design trends in the market. Understand and utilize design applications such as Salesforce, the proprietary Online Design Appointment Scheduler, and MyProject. Perform other duties as assigned. Working Conditions Travel may be required by car; limited travel. Frequently exposed to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles; moderate to noisy. Physical requirements: ability to lift 20‑50 pounds occasionally or 10‑25 pounds frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds constantly. Requires use of hands and fingers, standing, walking, reaching, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
