Senior Layout Designer

What You’ll Do Create 2D and 3D mechanical layouts, sketches, and detailed drawings using AutoCAD. Interpret schematics, specifications, and engineering drawings to develop complete system designs. Support the design of paint finishing equipment, mechanical layouts, piping, and related components. Identify design challenges and develop practical technical solutions. Participate in design reviews and collaborate with engineering and estimating teams. Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and customers throughout the design process. Maintain drawing accuracy, revision control, distribution, and document archives. Support project schedules and complete design deliverables on time. Visit customer sites to collect field measurements and verify existing conditions. Travel approximately 20%. What You’ll Bring Associate degree in Engineering, Mechanical Design, or a related field preferred. Five or more years of mechanical design experience. Strong AutoCAD 2D and 3D skills. Experience developing mechanical layouts and detailed fabrication or installation drawings. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and technical specifications. Familiarity with basic piping design is preferred. Ability to perform basic engineering calculations using strong math and geometry skills. MicroStation or TriCAD experience is a plus. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with project teams, suppliers, and customers.
