Patient Care Associate

This 36‑hour per week position is in the Endoscopy department, which is closed on weekends and holidays. About the Role Patients will receive care that meets their individual needs in all patient settings. You’ll work alongside nurses, physicians, and technicians to provide hands‑on care for patients before and after endoscopy procedures. This is a patient‑focused role where you’ll help patients feel comfortable, safe, and supported throughout their visit. What You’ll Do Support patients before and after procedures Assist with walking, dressing, toileting, feeding, and other activities of daily living Obtain vital signs and report changes to the nursing team Transport patients throughout the department Prepare patient rooms and turn over recovery spaces Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges Answer call lights and support patient communication Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment Training is provided for additional clinical skills, including IV removal, 12‑lead EKGs, and blood draws (phlebotomy) Assist with administrative and front‑desk responsibilities as needed What Makes You Successful Reliable and dependable Compassionate and patient‑centered A team player who enjoys helping others Eager to learn new clinical skills Comfortable in a fast‑paced healthcare environment Healthcare experience is helpful, but enthusiasm, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn are just as important Why Join This Team? Minimum Qualifications High school graduate or equivalent Previous clerical experience (preferably in a healthcare setting). Medical terminology is preferred. Ability to read and write at level 8, as documented on "Invest," the hospital’s Employee Learning Laboratory software. Ability to set appropriate priorities and organize workflow. Ability to concentrate and pay attention to detail during frequent interruptions. Strong interpersonal skills are necessary to interface with support and professional staff and patients.
