About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President of Development to spearhead the establishment of a dedicated development office. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing fundraising strategies, cultivating relationships with individual and institutional donors, and leading all fundraising activities. This role is pivotal in building a robust contributed revenue program that aligns with the organization's priorities. The Vice President will also be tasked with engaging senior staff, board members, and key partners to ensure the success of the fundraising efforts. The role demands a leader with a deep alignment to the organization's vision and mission, a strong track record in fundraising, and the ability to engage with a diverse philanthropic community, including donors of color. Candidates for the Vice President of Development position at the company should have a minimum of 10 years' leadership experience in philanthropy or related fields, with a proven ability to meet or exceed fundraising goals. The role requires a comprehensive knowledge of fundraising program components, experience in engaging with diverse donor communities, and the ability to create a results-oriented, collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial mindset, exceptional interpersonal skills, and a consistent record of ethical conduct. Proficiency in CRM platforms is essential, and experience with multi-entity structures is strongly preferred. The Vice President will be expected to deliver near-term progress while also building the long-term infrastructure to support the organization's growth.
