Description Head of Marketing Austin, TX | Full-Time About Onramp Onramp is a fintech lender providing fast, flexible working capital to ecommerce businesses selling on Amazon, Shopify, Walmart, and other marketplaces. Our platform analyzes merchant performance in real time and underwrites loans designed to help sellers grow without the friction of traditional financing. We’re a ~30-person startup with a strong engineering culture, a bias for execution, and an emerging AI foundation powering our product, operations, and go-to-market strategy. Role Overview We’re looking for a Head of Marketing who reports directly to the COO and can architect and lead Onramp’s next phase of growth. You will own demand generation, lifecycle/retention marketing, positioning, messaging, and brand development while integrating AI-driven workflows and agents into daily execution. Key Responsibilities Full-Funnel Marketing Strategy & Execution: Own full-funnel marketing strategy, including demand generation, lifecycle/retention, brand building, content/SEO/AEO, partnerships, and ecommerce-focused thought leadership. Maintain and implement rigorous improvements to our A/B testing approach to continuously optimize marketing-driven customer acquisition (landing pages, ad campaigns, funnel pages) and retention performance. External Facing Leadership: Oversee external teams executing Google Ads, SEO, AEO, and design to ensure strong output across all acquisition and brand channels. Google Ads PPC Channel: Oversee the PPC specialist and media budget to efficiently scale Google Ads as our primary acquisition channel with disciplined CAC efficiency. Marketing Performance & ROI: Implement and maintain rigorous measurement of marketing impact across new and existing programs, with proficiency in CAC, LTV, attribution, and funnel metrics. Report insights and performance results to the leadership team. Marketing Innovation with AI + AEO: Build the future of marketing by developing the blueprint for an agentic-forward marketing organization. Prioritize, source, and develop AI agents that automate key marketing functions and compound team output. Brand & Storytelling: Own Onramp’s core value proposition and messaging across customer segments and ICP; ensure a consistent story across website, ads, sales collateral, partners, and product. Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of contractors and vendors (PPC, social media, PR and more), integrating their work with AI agents for maximum efficiency. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with sales, product, partnerships, and underwriting/credit teams to tightly align marketing with company goals and customer needs in the fintech/ecommerce ecosystem. Builder mindset: you enjoy hands-on work and don’t rely on large teams to get things done Qualifications 5-7 years in marketing or growth marketing roles (B2B SaaS, fintech, or eCommerce-adjacent experience preferred). Proven track record scaling paid and organic channels. Experience building and integrating AI tools, workflows, or automation into marketing processes. Strong understanding of platforms such as Shopify, Amazon, Walmart Marketplace, or similar ecosystems. Demonstrated success owning positioning, messaging, and brand development. Comfortable managing external specialists and driving high output across multiple functions. What You’ll Build A modern marketing engine powered by AI agents and human creativity.
