Hope RISING Clinic is a division of Wonderland Child & Family Services which is a multi-program agency serving children from birth through age 12 with developmental delays, disabilities, and prenatal substance exposure. Founded 50 years ago, Wonderland’s mission is to provide a strong and equitable foundation for children and their families with diverse needs and abilities to flourish through therapy, education, advocacy, and resources. We reach hundreds of families every month through Early Childhood Programs & Services and Hope RISING Clinic for Prenatal Substance Exposure. Our direct service providers are uniquely trained to provide trauma- and FASD-informed care.

About the Position

Wonderland Child & Family Services is seeking a passionate and skilled professional to join our dynamic, transdisciplinary team at the Hope Rising Clinic (HRC). In this role, you will provide education and evidence-based therapeutic support to caregivers and children ages 3–12 with prenatal substance exposure (PSE). Services are delivered in our Bothell clinic, and through remote work. Our clinic is a leader in the field, setting a national standard for innovative, high-quality care for children with PSE and their caregivers.

Pay and Benefits:

• This is a full-time, hybrid position with a starting salary range of $75,000 - $100,000 and a hiring bonus of $1000
• Role is expected to be 25% remote / 75% in-person, subject to change based on family and agency need

Note: Benefits are available to employees working at least 20 hours per week and costs vary by FTE.

• Interest in and passion for working with children with FASD and prenatal substance exposure.
• Master’s degree with a valid license in the state of Washington; LMHC-A or LSWAIC may be considered.
• Direct service experience as a mental health provider with children and families, preferably providing child-based mental health, trauma-informed care and/or working with families dealing with substance use and/or prenatal exposure.
• Able to conduct therapy sessions via telehealth, on-site at the clinic, and occasionally in community settings.
• Strong organizational skills needed for maintaining documentation, meeting deadlines, and scheduling clients.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Current criminal background check maintained for all employees.
• Wonderland employees are mandated reporters of any suspected abuse or neglect of a child to DCYF (CPS) and/or law enforcement.
• Commitment for all employees to work toward including trauma informed care practices in their daily work.

Qualifications

• Prefer child and family counseling with some experience in Play Therapy, CBT/DBT, crisis work, trauma-informed care, and/or motivational interviewing training/experience.
• Bilingual preferred.
• WA-AIMH endorsement preferred.
• Knowledge of parent/caregiver coaching; experience preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Participate in multidisciplinary intake assessments along with occupational therapists and family support specialists.
• Conduct caregiver training, focusing on neurobehavioral health.
• Collaborate in developing individualized goals and treatment plans for children and families.
• Implement evidence-based interventions tailored to children with PSE using a primary service provider model and structured approaches such as synergetic play therapy.
• Approach service delivery and support utilizing a neurobehavioral lens (brain-based disability where child “can’t” rather than “won’t”), of which accommodation is a key component (training provided).
• Recognize the importance of working with children and caregivers to achieve the greatest impact and be comfortable providing support and services to both.
• Participate as a member of the transdisciplinary team including caregivers and professional staff from various disciplines.
• Provide coaching, consultation, and in-service trainings for staff, parents, and care providers.
• Conduct 10-12 week Caregiver Education Program with parents – a 1 on 1, remote introduction to PSE and therapy through a neurobehavioral lens. This program precedes all clinic-based services for new clients. Training provided.
• Serve as a liaison with the medical and educational community on behalf of enrolled children and their parents/caregivers.
• Demonstrate a caring, nonjudgmental, equity-minded approach to working with every family.
• Attend scheduled clinical and staff meetings and be an active participant in staff related activities.
• Prepare written reports and chart notes as required.
• Be committed to ongoing education and maintaining knowledge of current practices and research specific to this population.

Physical Demands/Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may work in an office environment, their home, and community settings. This role may occasionally require lifting items up to 30 pounds. The position involves prolonged sitting, reaching above the head, and use of a computer screen for up to 8 hours per day.
