Store ManagerDepartment: Reports To: Director of Operations Direct Reports: Retail and Production Departments Job Type: (Full-Time) Job Status: (Salary Exempt )Position Summary / OverviewThe Store Manager is responsible for performing all duties required to accept, sort, and price donated items. Hiring and developing a qualified team, continual training and coaching for all staff, register operations, customer service, store appearance and displays, and employee interactions, as outlined in the essential functions of the job and in compliance with company policies, procedures and mission statement.Key Responsibilities / Essential FunctionsOperationsTo perform any of the required job duties within the processing team. This includes all requirements related to accepting donations, presorting and pricing merchandise. Adhere to and implement, daily, all donor service standards, policies and procedures. Lead and equip team in the retail operations of the store, including the handling of cash and credit card payments, refunds, and all functions of the POS system in order to ensure the accuracy and security of all transactions. Responsible for hiring and termination of all staff. Work closely with the Team Services Hiring Manager to place the best people on the team.Train and retain employees. Must fulfill the required hours and required scheduled shifts unless otherwise approved by the Director of Operations. Work with store staff, to maintain the physical appearance of the store, including, but not limited to ordering and maintaining needed janitorial and restroom supplies, removing safety hazards, picking up store merchandise and restoring to proper place, cleaning parking lot, sidewalks, windows and doors, store floors, restrooms and other public areas, to ensure the safety and health of customers and employees. Be sure that the retail floor has proper branding protocol in place including register and front door signage.Manage the continual set up and change of store displays in order to provide a pleasant shopping environment and to entice customers to shop new areas or items within the store.Must be able to appropriately set daily goals and plan their day according to projections/targets.Schedule staff appropriately to ensure the team is well equipped for high volume days.Maintain clean and well-organized reception, presort and processing areas.Recognize the value and appropriate pricing needs of items prior to those items reaching the sales floor.People Leadership Lead and train store staff in stocking store shelves and clothing racks, in order to provide customers with maximum shopping opportunities.Train processing staff and volunteers to maintain a clean and well-organized reception, presort, and processing areasTrain and hold staff accountable for recognizing the value and appropriate pricing needs of items prior to those items reaching the sales floor.Provide a positive and encouraging atmosphere for staff to promote further professional development and growth within the organization.Financial / AdministrativeComplete, with accuracy, all financial reporting and bank deposits, to ensure truthful reporting and recording of daily sales and donations. Ensure that daily reports are properly filled out in a timely manner. Work with the management team to make daily bank deposits and acquire change for the register to ensure the accuracy and security of store funds. Properly execute necessary paperwork related to employees including hiring paperwork, disciplinary action, termination paperwork, workers compensation paperwork, etc. Must approve timecards by 10:00 AM on Payroll Mondays. Payroll Mondays should also be the days when managers create schedules for two weeks out unless otherwise discussed with the Director. Review Cyfe Dashboard daily to understand and communicate targets to the team. Accurately keep up with and fill out labor worksheets every Monday and on an as needed basis. Customer / CommunityCommunicate all events related to customer service issues or problems, employee issues or accidents, and general store operations to the Director of Operations, in order to ensure all issues are handled properly and in accordance with company policies and procedures.Mission AlignmentAdhere to the Mission, Vision, and Values of Abide Thrift Stores by modeling professionalism and mission-aligned values and behaviors.Experience / Competencies (Knowledge & Skills)Proficiency with Microsoft 365 / Google Workspace3+ years of retail experience2+ years of people management (if applicable)Performance management and coaching skillsTraining and onboarding experienceStrong verbal and written communicationProblem-solving and decision-making abilityBasic math and cash handling skillsProfessional phone and customer service etiquetteAbility to travel as neededValid drivers license (required if travel is part of the role)EducationMinimum RequirementsHigh School Diploma or GED (required)PreferredAssociates or Bachelors degree in related fieldRelevant certificationsPhysical RequirementsMust be able to carry, lift, push, and pull items up to 50lbs.
