Mechanical Design Engineer

job summary:
Growing manufacturer on the north side of Columbus is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to add to their Application Engineering team. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of mechanical design experience with MEP structures and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Structural Engineering. Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor and Solidworks required, as well as a strong understanding of structural loading and systems.

All candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.

responsibilities:

• Produce manufacturing drawings for structural components and distribution systems for piping, ductwork and MEP systems

• Perform seismic and wind load calculations and create supporting engineering reports

• Support Revit/BIM coordination for MEP systems and engineered supports

• Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) using SolidWorks

• Generate custom product drawings based on project sales requirements

Requirements:

• B.S. in Mechanical or Structural Engineering or similar

• At least 3 years of mechanical or product design in manufacturing

• Proficiency with Autodesk, SolidWorks Simulation and engineering automation tools

• Ability to conduct engineering calculations and a strong understanding of structural loading, vibration isolation and anchorage design

• International Building Code requirements familiarity

• Experience with manufacturing processes/fabrication and structural systems with MEP components
