Diesel Mechanic/Technician A

As a Diesel Mechanic/Technician A, you will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining all equipment used to transport and handle freight. Responsibilities Inspect, repair, and maintain equipment such as single and tandem axle diesel over‑the‑road and city tractors, diesel city straight trucks, and propane and diesel‑powered industrial forklifts. Track completed and uncompleted work to maintain adequate production so service schedules and customer commitments are met. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, or other breakdowns or potential failures; perform failure analysis of component parts and systems of trucks, tractors, converter gear, and forklifts. Perform routine maintenance such as lubrication, cooling system tests, brake adjustments, and tire inflation. Repair or rebuild all or part of a system of assigned equipment as needed. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Valid Driver’s License. At least 6 months related experience and/or training. Ability to satisfactorily pass background check and alcohol and drug test. Preferred: experience in diesel engine repair, automotive diagnostics, automotive service, ASE certification, and diesel engine certification. Pay and Shift Pay: $33.00–$40.45 per hour (pay may vary based on location and experience). Work Shift: Second Shift.
