This position requires a night shift of 3x12 hours, from 19:00 to 07:30.

Job Description

We are currently seeking a registered nurse with comprehensive experience in labor and delivery as well as postpartum care. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a high-risk environment, exhibiting competency in both routine and complex procedures.

Location

Candidates must be willing to work in a facility located in Madras, OR.

Essential Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of full labor and delivery and postpartum experience.
• Epic charting system experience preferred.
• Active certifications required: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, NRP.
• Availability to work every other weekend or a total of 8 weekend shifts.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in administering blood and blood products.
• Skill in labor and delivery, including high-risk cases.
• Proficiency in managing postpartum care and well-baby assessments.
• Ability to collaborate on multidisciplinary care for complex patient populations.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Monitor and evaluate the health status of pregnant women and their infants.
• Conduct assessments, including non-stress tests and physical examinations.
• Assist in labor and delivery processes, including circulating for C-sections.
• Provide education to new parents on newborn care and breastfeeding support.
• Participate in emergency response efforts when necessary.

Patient Demographics

This role involves caring for a diverse population, including neonates, adolescents, and adults, with an emphasis on individuals experiencing high-risk pregnancies or conditions.

Unit Information

The facility operates a high-risk unit that deals with complex issues such as hypertensive disorders, pregnancy loss, and neonatal addictions. Staff are required to adhere to established staffing standards and work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team, which includes respiratory services, social services, and pharmacy support.

Candidates are expected to float within their scope to meet facility needs and be adaptable to various responsibilities across labor and delivery, postpartum, and well-baby care areas.
