Under the direction of the Director of Pharmacy/Staff Pharmacist, following established hospital and departmental policies and procedures, the Pharmacy Technician performs a variety of pharmacy related functions including filling routine orders for unit doses and prepackaged pharmaceuticals and I.V. admixtures.This is a per diem position.Job Description:Essential Core Responsibilities:Restocks floor stock/automated dispensing machines.Enters charges/credits against patient profile to ensure an accurate bill.Monitors medication order reports to assign medication to an automated dispensing machine.Delivers all medication in compliance with all DEA, DPH & State Board of Pharmacy regulations.Repackages bulk supplies of medications in unit of use packaging in accordance with all Federal USP & USP standards.Prepares and delivers IV medications in accordance with Federal USP & USP standards. Maintains records pertaining to IV admixtures, maintains cleanliness in sterile areas, and completes QA.Checks for expired medications within the pharmacy & automated dispensing cabinets. Ensures that all expired/damaged medications are disposed of in accordance with RCRA, OSHA & NIOSH regulationsRequired Qualifications:0-1 years experience (entry level)High School Diploma/GEDRegistered Technician with StateCPhTPreferred Qualifications:Hospital pharmacy experienceSterile compounding experiencePay Range:$24.50 – $32.97The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time.
