Job Title: RN CVICU Pediatrics Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: CVICU Pediatrics Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum one year CVICU experience in a level I trauma setting License: Current RN License issued by the state board of nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC) Certifications: Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association. PALS (American Heart Association). Must-Have: CVICU experience in a level I trauma setting Description: Under general supervision, provides nursing care in a hospital to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex. Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients. Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments. Notes all changes in physician orders on assigned patients. Assists physician in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatment. Obtains and monitors physiological data of patients and observes their manifestations, intervening when necessary. Administers medication as prescribed and initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products. Delivers patient care competently. Interacts with family and patients in sharing care plans while in the hospital and at the time of discharge. Informs patient and family of hospital procedures. Makes referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel. Delegates tasks to support staff. Performs other duties as assigned. Knowledge of professional nursing theories, practices, techniques, and procedures is required. Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques is essential. Maintains good working relationships with colleagues. Demonstrates good verbal and written communication skills. Responds effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors. Possesses some computer skills. Education: Required: Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program. Preferred: Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Nursing from a board-approved program. Preferred Skills & Experience: N/A
