Prior Authorization Coordinator
Overview
Seeking a Prior Authorization Coordinator to track and manage insurance prior authorization requests, verify status, forecast decisions, and place orders upon approval. This role involves heavy outbound calling and portal follow-ups while working closely with cross-functional healthcare teams.
Key Duties
- Check prior authorization statuses via insurance portals and outbound calls
- Manage a high-volume workload (80-90 files) and escalate as needed
- Forecast authorization decisions and meet aging KPIs
- Place approved orders in the CRM system
- Document all interactions in compliance with HIPAA
- Maintain accurate data and support process improvements
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (some college preferred)
- 2+ years of healthcare customer service experience (DME or prior auth preferred)
- Experience with medical insurance processes
- Strong communication, multitasking, and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working independently and in a fast-paced environment

- Schedule: M-F, 8:00-4:30 or 8:30-5:00
- Location: Hybrid- Roseville, MN
