Bookkeeper

Job Description Your role as our company bookkeeper will place you in charge of our day-to-day bookkeeping, including accounts receivable, billing, accounts payable, account reconciliation, accepting and depositing funds. As our bookkeeper, you will primarily utilize Netsuite as the main accounting system in addition to QuickBooks and Excel to record transactions and prepare accounting reports. The Bookkeeper’s duties are designed to keep the company apprised of the heartbeat and health of the business. You will operate our company's financial data and compliance by maintaining accurate books on daily financial entries and reconciliations as well as accounts payable and receivable, payroll. You will perform daily accounting tasks such as monthly financial reporting, general ledger entries, and record payments and adjustments. General Duties Record ACH payments, customer payments, credit card payments and journal entries in NetSuite ledger. Maintain records of financial transactions by establishing accounts; posting transactions; ensure legal requirements compliance. Develops system to account for financial transactions by establishing a chart of accounts; defining bookkeeping policies and procedures. Maintain subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions. Balances subsidiary accounts by reconciling entries. Maintain general ledger by transferring subsidiary account summaries. Balances general ledger by preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries. Maintain historical records by filing documents. Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends. Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying requirements; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing reports; advising management on needed actions. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. State tax filing. Processing payments. Conducting daily banking activities. Producing various financial reports. Reconciling reports to third-party records such as bank statements. Submit payroll taxes. Perform all activities related to the accounts payable function including reviewing, coding, and processing payments. Perform account receivable functions including invoicing, deposits, collections, and revenue recognition. Interpret and apply accounting policies, rules, and regulations to all work in order to ensure compliance with applicable standards. Bookkeeper Qualifications / Skills Analyzing Information. Thorough knowledge and understanding of GAAP. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proficient skills in QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel and Netsuite. Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger. High degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Dealing with Complexity. Reporting Research Results. Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements Associates degree in accounting, finance, or related field. 5 years relevant experience working in accounting and bookkeeping.
