Family Office Controller with HYBRID Work Schedule!!

StevenDouglas is exclusively working on a new Family Office Controller position located in Palm Beach County! This position is open due to the current Controller retiring, and the new Controller will have the opportunity to work with the existing Controller to ensure a smooth transition. The Family Office Controller is responsible for overseeing and executing accounting, financial reporting, and control functions across a diverse portfolio of client entities and internal firm operations. Reporting to the Principal, the Controller ensures accuracy, consistency, and compliance in financial reporting while supporting the unique needs of the Family Office. Responsibilities Oversee day-to-day accounting and financial management for the Family Office, which includes trusts, partnerships, LLCs, charitable foundations, and operating companies Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements Coordinate with external tax advisors to support the preparation and timely filing of federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals and entities Ensure accurate delivery of accounting data, K-1s, and supporting schedules Serve as the primary liaison for external auditors; manage annual audits and reviews for applicable entities Design, document, and maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures to mitigate risk and ensure data integration Maintain and optimize accounting systems, chart of accounts, and reporting tools across entities Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred Minimum of 10+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience Prior experience in a family office, multi-family office, private wealth, or professional services environment strongly preferred Deep understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and entity accounting Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines High degree of professionalism, discretion, and commitment to confidentiality Advanced proficiency in accounting systems; QuickBooks and Excel #J-18808-Ljbffr StevenDouglas
