General Job Description\nThe Corporate Facilities, Fleet & Environmental Manager is responsible for the strategic, operational, and compliance management of Dobbs Truck Group facilities and company-owned rolling stock. This role ensures that facilities, indoor and outdoor environments, building systems, and fleet assets are maintained, repaired, and operated safely, efficiently, and to consistent company standards.\nThe position oversees approximately 25 facilities and company-owned rolling stock, including sales representative vehicles, parts delivery vehicles, mobile service trucks, trailers, and other support vehicles. The role is focused on consistent, high-quality facility conditions; reliable and cost-effective fleet operations; strong safety and environmental audit performance; reduced operational and environmental exposure; effective use of vendors and contractors; and successful delivery of capital projects supporting growth and operational reliability.\nThis position has direct ownership of day-to-day facility safety auditing, environmental compliance, facility condition and appearance, rolling stock management, vendor governance, and related capital planning. The position also serves as the primary point of contact for facilities, fleet, and environmental risk matters.\nThe duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment to the position.\n\nResponsibilities\nFacilities Strategy & Standardization\n\n Establish and enforce enterprise-wide standards for facility condition, maintenance, repair, construction, safety, and appearance.\n Standardize layouts, safety controls, signage, traffic flow, and equipment storage practices across equipment yards, parking areas, fencing, shop environments, parts warehouses, storage areas, and office areas.\n Implement preventive maintenance programs for cranes, HVAC systems, bulk storage tanks, wash racks, compressed air systems, overhead doors and openers, and other facility infrastructure and equipment.\n Develop consistent inspection, prioritization, and escalation processes for facility maintenance requests and deficiencies.\n Monitor facility reliability, deferred maintenance, repair spending, and service levels across all locations.\n\nFleet & Rolling Stock Management\n\n Develop and maintain enterprise-wide standards for company-owned rolling stock, including sales representative vehicles, parts delivery vehicles, mobile service trucks, trailers, and other support vehicles.\n Manage fleet lifecycle strategies, including acquisition, specification, upfitting, assignment, utilization, maintenance, transfer, replacement, disposal, and remarketing.\n Develop fleet replacement schedules that balance safety, reliability, operational needs, capital requirements, operating cost, and total cost of ownership.\n Coordinate preventive maintenance programs and monitor compliance with required inspections, registrations, licensing, permits, and related records.\n Administer or coordinate fleet telematics, vehicle tracking systems, fuel card programs, and other fleet-related technologies and records.\n Monitor and analyze vehicle utilization, fleet age, mileage, fuel consumption, maintenance expense, repair trends, downtime, accident history, and total cost of ownership.\n Establish and manage preferred vendors for vehicle procurement, leasing, upfitting, maintenance, repair, tires, towing, fueling, and other fleet services.\n Partner with Operations, Service, Parts, Sales, Risk Management, and Finance to ensure fleet resources support business needs and company standards.\n Develop dashboards and key performance indicators for fleet utilization, maintenance compliance, operating cost, downtime, safety performance, and replacement planning.\n\nDay-to-Day Safety, Environmental & Compliance Auditing\n\n Oversee routine facility safety and compliance activities in coordination with facility leadership and the Company’s designated third-party safety and compliance partner. Areas of responsibility include equipment yard safety and traffic controls; fuel, hydraulic fluid, and oil handling; spill prevention, containment, and response readiness; waste management, recycling, and hazardous materials handling; and required overhead crane inspections and certifications. Ensure daily, weekly, and periodic inspections are completed accurately and consistently by facility teams.\n Coordinate audits, inspections, training, and other compliance activities conducted or supported by the designated third-party safety and compliance partner.\n Track audit findings, near misses, incidents, deficiencies, and corrective actions and ensure they are addressed and closed in a timely manner\n Maintain readiness for OSHA, EPA, DOT, fire marshal, environmental and other regulatory inspections applicable to company operations, with support from the designated third party and compliance partner as appropriate.\n Escalate critical risks and repeat deficiencies to executive leadership with clear remediation plans.\n Work closely with the corporate real estate resources on construction and major facility projects to ensure applicable safety and environmental requirements are addressed\n\nEnvironmental Oversight & Risk Management\n\n Lead facility environmental compliance in coordination with the designated third-party safety and compliance partner. Areas of responsibility include fuel storage and aboveground or underground tanks; Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure plans; stormwater, wastewater, and wash bay controls; air emissions where applicable; and hazardous waste and used oil management.\n Ensure required permits, plans, inspections, certifications, and supporting documentation are current, accurate and properly maintained.\n Coordinate environmental investigations, remediation efforts, regulatory responses, and third-party audits with internal stakeholders and external resources.\n Proactively identify environmental exposure risks and implement appropriate preventive and corrective controls.\n Coordinate spill response resources, reporting protocols, required notifications, documentation and corrective actions.\n\nVendor, Contractor & Purchasing Leverage\n\n Leverage organizational scale to establish preferred national and regional providers for facility repairs; paving, concrete, and drainage; electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and landscaping services; environmental and spill response services; vehicle procurement and upfitting; and fleet maintenance and repair.\n Standardize contractor safety, insurance, environmental, service, and documentation requirements for on-site work.\n Negotiate and monitor pricing, workmanship, response time, safety performance, and compliance across locations.\n Continuously evaluate vendor performance and manage corrective actions, competitive bids, or provider transitions as needed.\n\nCapital Planning & Executive Coordination\n\n Partner with the CEO, CFO, the ownership group, corporate real estate resources, and executive leadership to plan and prioritize facility improvements, yard improvements, shop upgrades, environmental compliance projects, fleet replacement initiatives, and major infrastructure projects.\n Prepare business cases, risk assessments, cost estimates, replacement analyses, and capital requests for facility investments.\n Oversee execution of approved capital projects, ensuring safety, compliance, schedule, quality, and budget adherence.\n Provide executive-level reporting on project status, facility and fleet risks, capital needs, and outcomes.\n\nLeadership, Reporting & Cross-Functional Collaboration\n\n Build facility, fleet, environmental, and safety awareness with branch managers, service managers, parts managers, and other local leaders.\n Collaborate with Parts, Service, Sales, Operations, Human Resources, Finance, and other corporate functions.\n Develop dashboards and KPIs covering safety and environmental audit performance, facility compliance and condition, fleet utilization and operating cost, maintenance compliance, fleet replacement planning, and capital project execution.\n Serve as the subject-matter expert for facilities, fleet, and environmental risk discussions with insurance carriers, auditors, vendors, and regulatory agencies.\n Communicate standards, priorities, corrective actions, and progress clearly to executive leadership and operating teams.\n\nII. Physical and Travel Requirements\n\n Substantial travel is required for multi-site oversight, inspections, project execution, vendor coordination, and branch support (more than 50% of the time).\n Ability to inspect indoor and outdoor facility areas, shops, yards, warehouses, building systems, vehicles, and related equipment in varying weather and operating conditions.\n Ability to comply with site-specific personal protective equipment and safety requirements.\n\nIII. Minimum Job Qualifications\n\n 10+ years of progressive facilities, fleet, operations, construction, industrial asset, or related management experience in heavy-duty trucking, heavy equipment, industrial, manufacturing, construction, distribution, or a similar environment.\n Demonstrated success managing multi-site facilities, distributed fleet assets, vendors, and capital programs.\n Strong working knowledge of applicable OSHA, EPA, DOT, SPCC, hazardous materials, environmental, and industrial safety requirements.\n Experience working with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, either directly or through vendors and contractors.\n Experience with fleet lifecycle management, preventive maintenance, utilization reporting, replacement planning, and total cost of ownership analysis.\n Proven ability to manage competing priorities, drive accountability across locations, and communicate effectively with operating and executive leadership.\n Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Power BI, and other systems used for asset, project, and performance management.\n\nIV. Education, Skills and Experience\n\n Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Environmental Science, Business, Fleet Management, or a related field preferred.\n Highly developed management, organization, communication, budgeting, and project management skills.\n Ability to manage multiple priorities across a geographically dispersed organization.\n Hands-on understanding of heavy-duty truck dealership operations, industrial facilities, vehicle maintenance, and vendor-managed repairs.\n Strong analytical skills, including the ability to evaluate costs, risks, utilization, asset condition, and return on investment.\n Ability to prepare reports, business correspondence, capital requests, and executive presentations.\n Ability to interpret instructions, regulations, technical information, diagrams, and schedules and translate them into practical operating standards.\n\nV.
