REGISTERED NURSE

Seaside Health System, Baton Rouge, LA

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at Seaside Health System in Baton Rouge, LA. As a Registered Nurse on our staff, you will be responsible for providing direct and indirect patient care to psychiatric patients with acute behavioral disorders and chronic psychiatric illnesses. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient treatment plans, provide education and support to patients and their families, and ensure high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care, including patient assessment, treatment planning, and administration of medications

• Collaborate with the treatment team to develop and implement patient treatment plans

• Educate patients and their families on disease management, treatment options, and healthy living practices

• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to improve patient outcomes and satisfaction

• Demonstrate commitment to excellence in patient care, safety, and customer service

• Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient care and treatment plans

• Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices in psychiatric care

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing

• Current Louisiana RN licensure

• Minimum 1 year of recent medical-surgical or psychiatric clinical experience

• Knowledgeable and competent in current principles and practices of medical-surgical and psychiatric nursing

• Strong therapeutic verbal and non-verbal communication skills

• Ability to form a sound therapeutic alliance with patients

• Ability to explain healthcare issues and engage in shared decision-making

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
