A leading international law firm is looking for an outstanding Marketing & Business Development Manager to take the lead for its global Sports, Media & Entertainment sector. This is no ordinary professional-services M&BD role. You will support an exceptional international practice that advises some of the biggest names, brands and organisations in sport, media and entertainment. The work is high-profile, fast-moving and frequently at the intersection of business, finance, regulation and culture. It is a true “full-cycle” opportunity for a commercially minded M&BD professional who loves variety, visibility and ownership. From shaping the global sector strategy to winning major pitches, developing priority clients, launching campaigns and raising the profile of leading lawyers, you will be at the centre of it all. Working closely with the Global Sector Heads, senior partners and an established international M&BD community, you will become the strategic and operational lead for the sector. You will connect the dots across offices, practices, clients and emerging market opportunities—bringing structure, energy and commercial focus to a sector with enormous potential. Your remit will span the complete M&BD mix: Developing and delivering the global sector business plan Identifying market trends, client opportunities and areas for growth Leading high-value pitches, RFPs and strategic targeting initiatives Supporting the development of priority client relationships and account plans Analysing client performance and helping lawyers turn insight into action Creating distinctive campaigns, thought leadership and profile-raising programmes Working with PR and communications colleagues to build the visibility of the practice and its partners Delivering standout client events, webinars, conferences and sponsorship activations Building relationships with influential industry bodies and associations Leading directory and award submissions Developing compelling credentials, propositions and client-facing materials Connecting the global sector community through effective internal communications and knowledge sharing This is a hands-on position with genuine strategic influence. You will be trusted to bring ideas, challenge constructively and drive projects from initial concept through to measurable results. There is no direct people management at present. However, the role has clear scope to evolve as the sector and its M&BD support grow—making it particularly attractive to someone who wants to build something and develop their leadership remit over time. You will be an accomplished M&BD professional with broad experience across business development, marketing, campaigns, pitches and client development. Legal or professional-services experience would be particularly valuable. Just as importantly, you will be someone who can see the bigger picture while still making things happen. Core skills: Strong strategic and commercial judgement A proven ability to spot opportunities and translate them into practical action End-to-end experience across the M&BD lifecycle Excellent pitch, proposal and targeting credentials Strong project-management skills and confidence managing multiple priorities The credibility to advise and influence senior partners and stakeholders Outstanding writing, communication and attention to detail A collaborative, diplomatic and solutions-focused approach The confidence to work independently across a complex global organisation Energy, curiosity and a genuine appetite to understand the sector Experience within sports, media or entertainment would be a bonus, but it is not essential. A legal back ground is though. What matters most is the ability to immerse yourself in a fascinating market, build trusted relationships and bring sophisticated M&BD thinking to a world-class practice. Pay transparency The anticipated salary range for this role is $150,000 - $210,000 depending on location.
