We currently have opportunities for Admissions Nurses - Night Shift 7p-7a- plus shift differentials.

Position Summary

Admissions Registered Nurse (RN) Weekend Nights (Friday, Saturday, Sunday: 7p-7a), key responsibilities include but not limited to: Responds to incoming calls to the hospital to accommodate coordination for referrals/admissions. Will provide assessment of patients' psychiatric and medical status. Responsible for making sure all inquiries, referrals, and admissions are documented accurately in the computer system and that notes regarding referrals and upcoming admissions are documented on proper forms. Responsible to ensure all referral patient medical record information is completed and nursing and clinical staff are adequately apprised of the patient's condition/history. Responsible to ensure referral material is copied/distributed and prepared in unit charts as required. To assess, direct and intervene in crisis situations. To provide leadership and direction to mental health technicians. To contribute to treatment plan as a member of interdisciplinary team. To administer medication and medical treatment as prescribed by Physician.

Qualifications

Registered Nurse Job Requirements

* Graduation from an accredited nursing program. Licensed by the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas (or licensed in a compact state).
* One-year psychiatric nursing experience preferred.
* CPR and hospital de-escalation certifications which can be obtained during orientation.
* Must be able to complete new hire requirements such as a nationwide background check and pre-employment drug screen.
* State and Federal Office of the Inspector General check.
