Job Title: Assistant Payroll Manager
Job Overview:
Contemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking an Assistant Payroll Manager to join our client to support and oversee complex payroll operations across North America. This role focuses on ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely payroll delivery for a large employee population while providing operational leadership to the payroll team. The position works closely with HR, Finance, and external vendors to maintain strong controls, resolve escalations, and support system functionality. This is a hybrid temporary role based in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, with onsite work Tuesday through Thursday.
Compensation:
$50.00 to $60.00 per hour
Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with flexibility within normal business hours and a possible 9:00 AM start
Key Responsibilities of the Assistant Payroll Manager:

• Oversee end to end payroll processing for union and non union employees across the US and Canada, ensuring accuracy, reconciliation, and adherence to deadlines for approximately 1,550 employees
• Provide leadership, guidance, and daily support to the payroll team, including performance oversight, service level management, and escalation handling through internal ticketing systems
• Manage payroll systems and integrations, including in house Workday US payroll, ADP Canada processing, Kronos or Dimensions time and attendance, and ongoing testing and configuration updates
• Ensure timely and accurate payroll tax filings, wage garnishments, regulatory reporting, and compliance with federal, state, local, and international requirements
• Partner with HR and Finance on payroll accounting entries, benefits and retirement reporting, special payments, company vehicle programs, and continuous process improvement initiatives

Qualifications and Skills for the Assistant Payroll Manager:

• Seven or more years of progressive payroll experience, with strong hands on expertise using Workday payroll in a complex or high volume environment
• Experience supporting time and attendance systems such as Kronos or Dimensions and integrating payroll with HR and finance platforms
• Proven ability to manage sensitive and confidential data while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Background working in multi company or multi EIN environments, with experience collaborating with external vendors and compliance partners
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field, along with proficiency in Excel and experience with SAP or similar ERP systems
