Contract | 8-Week Assignment | Full-Time | Onsite | Days | 12-Hour Shifts | Every Other Weekend, Every Other Holiday

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments, develop and implement individualized plans of care, and evaluate treatment effectiveness using clinical judgment and evidence-based practice.
• Administer and manage cardiac drips including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Cardene, Nitroglycerin, Heparin, and Insulin in accordance with applicable standards and policies.
• Provide care for pre- and post-cardiac catheterization patients, including management of post-pacer, post-MitraClip, and post-TAVR patients, as well as patients presenting with new-onset atrial fibrillation, chest pain, COPD, and heart failure.
• Manage patients requiring advanced respiratory support including ventilators, tracheostomies, BiPAP, CPAP, heated high-flow, and high-flow nasal cannula oxygen therapy.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for care coordination across hospital departments, collaborating with interdisciplinary team members and communicating with patients and families or caregivers.
• Advocate for patient safety by participating in ongoing quality improvement initiatives and upholding patient privacy and safety standards.

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state of practice or covered under a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience; experience with pre- and post-cardiac catheterization patients required.
• Experience managing patients on ventilators and with tracheostomies required.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
• NIH Stroke Certification required.
• Dysrhythmia Exam required prior to start (study guide available).

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• CCRN or PCCN certification preferred.
• Experience with EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) system preferred.
• Completion of a Critical Care Course preferred.
