Cold Heading Process Engineer (Fasteners) — Rockford, IL

Start your morning on the production floor, walking the cold headers and secondary operations line. A press is ready for a tooling change you helped design. Quality has a question about a tight tolerance feature, and Sales pings you for a quick feasibility check before they quote a new engineered fastener. By mid‑day, you’ve partnered with Production to remove a bottleneck, then jumped on a call with a customer to confirm specs. You wrap the day documenting a process improvement that will cut scrap and stabilize capability, moving us closer to flawless launches and on‑time delivery.

• Lead and support part development, tooling selection/design, and process improvements in a cold heading environment.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Sales to troubleshoot issues, elevate efficiency, and accelerate throughput.
• Contribute to quoting, perform manufacturability/feasibility reviews, and provide technical customer support.
• Analyze manufacturing processes, identify waste, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure products conform to customer specifications and internal quality standards.
• Serve as a hands‑on technical resource across multiple departments.

• Education: Higher‑level engineering or technical education preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• Experience: 2+ years in the fastener or cold heading industry required.
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of cold heading processes and secondary operations required.
• Software:

• Pay: Starting at $65,000+/year, based on experience.
• Type: Full‑time, 1st Shift, On‑site.
• Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
• Location: Rockford, IL (on‑site at a stable, growing manufacturer).
