The Work As a Product Quality Engineer on the LM Rotary & Mission Systems (RMS) programs in Syracuse, NY, your responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Identify root causes and associated corrective actions, evaluate process/product performance, and participate/interface with the engineering and production counterparts on program activities to assure processes and products are compliant to contractual requirements. Evaluate and disposition production nonconforming hardware and analyze defect data to identify systemic issues and trends. Provide inputs to the Production QPM on product QA tasking, ensuring sound labor estimates on ECPs and ongoing proposal efforts. Verify systems are 100% compliant with the requirements and present systems to customer representative(s) for acceptance. Support, participate and execute strategies related to the roll‑out of advanced manufacturing, including Additive Manufacturing, Rapid Prototyping, and Lean Manufacturing. Conduct data validation, statistical data analysis, and presentation of quality metrics as part of the QMS for manufacturing. Conduct process audits in accordance with internal processes and the AS9100 standard. Who We Are This position is for a Product Quality Engineer on the LM Rotary & Mission Systems (RMS) programs in Syracuse, NY. The role interfaces with the Production teams on Product Quality Assurance (PQA) work tasks/priorities and reports to the LM RMS PQA Manager. Who You Are You have a history of strong performance and the ability to take initiative across a variety of QA responsibilities/tasks on development and/or sustainment programs. You can quickly come up to speed with the products, hardware PQA work scope, technical requirements, program risks, and delivery milestone schedules. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or equivalent experience/combined education. Quality Engineering skills related to electro‑mechanical assembly operations, including the ability to interpret engineering drawings, build instructions, and process procedures to develop inspection processes and determine product compliance. Knowledge of performing root cause analysis and identifying corrective actions using structured methods such as DUO, Fault Tree Analysis, Fishbone Diagrams, and DOE. Experience performing audits and participating in third‑party/customer audits. Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Ability to obtain a Secret clearance. Desired Skills DoD contract experience. IPC 610/620 and J-STD-001 standard certification. Hardware experience demonstrating understanding of the acceptability of CCA’s and ceramics. Experience interfacing with Government Customer Representatives. AS9102 FAI experience. Excellent communication skills. ISO/AS9100 knowledge. Ability to interface with multiple stakeholders, including Military Customers, and effectively work in cross‑functional teams. Pay : Annual base salary range for this position in the state of New York is $67,000 – $117,990; this range may vary based on final work location and market considerations.
