Maintenance Millwright

Overview Elite Construction, Inc. is hiring an experienced Field Maintenance Millwright for upcoming travel jobs out of town. This temporary shut‑down position may turn into a full‑time role if the project continues. The position requires travel to Valdosta, Georgia, for hire and ongoing assignment. Key Responsibilities Installation & Assembly: Set up new industrial machinery such as conveyors, turbines, and generators based on blueprints and technical drawings. Precision Alignment: Use laser trackers, dial indicators, and micrometers to align and level machinery to precise tolerances. Maintenance & Repair: Perform routine preventive maintenance and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to minimize downtime. Rigging & Moving: Operate cranes, hoists, and forklifts to move, position, or dismantle heavy equipment safely. Machining: Operate lathes and grinders to fabricate or repair machine parts on‑site. Travel Logistics: Adapt to changing environments and work schedules, often 60+ hours per week, including night shifts. Follow safety policies and procedures, maintaining safety best practices in manufacturing. Repair damaged components, fill holes, and enlarge metal parts as needed. Install modifications to equipment and structures. Position and clamp fabricated metal components in preparation for welding. Assist in the maintenance and repair of fixed equipment such as pumps, seals, blowers, and specialty chemical plant processing equipment. Qualifications Minimum 2 years documented field experience in millwright or related craft discipline. Ability to read and interpret instructions, plan work, and perform tasks independently. Strong mechanical background with familiarity in setting, leveling, and aligning pumps and fans. Knowledge of machine repair, hydraulic systems, and fabrication from prints. Experience machining steel, stainless steel, aluminum, cast aluminum, and cast iron. Proficiency with measuring tools and common hand tools. Capacity to troubleshoot, install, align, dismantle, and repair industrial machinery for improved reliability and uptime. Familiarity with OSHA safety regulations. Valid driver’s license. Must pass a drug test and drug screening. Benefits & Compensation Travel: daily per diem, hotel room, and lunch provided. Transportation and lodging available when traveling. Working hours often exceed 60 per week; night shift occasionally required. Pay range: $26.00–$30.00 per hour, depending on experience.
