The Service Technician I works on the Property Management team to trouble shoot, make proper repairs and provide excellent customer service for our customers in our Progress Residential single-family homes.Essential Functions:Ability to quickly assess the situation and determine the appropriate steps necessary to resolving the service requestsAbility to provide outstanding customer service and be an ideal representative of Progress Residential’s standardsService Technicians will conduct all business in accordance with company policies and procedures and all state and federal regulations (such as Lead Based Paint, ADA, Fair Housing, HAZCOM Program OSHA, etc.)Maintain fleet vehicle and inventory within company guidelinesDiagnose and perform service or repairs as directed, involving the following daily:Electrical and plumbingAppliancesWater irrigation systemsStairs, gates, fences, patios, railingsTile, carpet, and flooringInterior/exterior lightsFireplaces, ceiling fansGas fixtures and appliancesShutters, doors, cabinets, windows, and sliding glass doorsDoor locks, mailboxes, and locksSecurity systemsLeaksWallsPool areas, tile, hot tub/spa, pool furnitureOther Service areas as required.Schedule and perform routine preventive service on residential propertiesReport all major repairs and need requisitions prior to any expenditure of fundsMust be always aware of the condition of the property and take immediate steps to correct any unsafe conditionFollow Fleet vehicle maintenance schedule and keep an organized and clean vehicle/workspaceEnsure all workplace safety standards and practices are upheldCompletes service requests in a professional timely mannerMaintains regular attendance and excellent punctualityThis role is considered Safety Sensitive and full compliance with all Fleet policies and procedures must be always adhered toDrivers of Progress Residential Fleet vehicles are expected to maintain a good driving record and drive in a safe manner at all timesQualifications:High school diploma or equivalent requiredMust have a valid Driver’s License in the working stateMinimum of 1 years’ experience in general service or other service responsibilities.Required equipment - Employee must have their own basic tools required to perform ongoing service in a residential environmentAvailable for on-call service workAvailable to work both weekends and eveningsPrevious experience in either the single-family or multi-family rental industry preferredMust possess ability to work and cope well under pressure, meet multiple and sometimes competing and tight deadlinesAbility to interact with residents, and vendors/contractors tactfully and professionallyStrong organizational skills, communication and people-skillsTypical Physical Demands - Regularly required sitting and standing for several hours at a time, to climb up and down stairs several times each day, and to lift 50 pounds with easeMust be knowledgeable of all pertinent laws and EPA and OSHA regulationsWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office software and working proficiency with handheld computer (i.e. Smartphone, iPad is preferred)Honest, ethical and handles things in confidential manner.What you can expect from us:Competitive Compensation - Including performance-based bonuses that reward your contributions.Comprehensive Benefits Package - Medical, dental, vision, parental leave, 401(k) with company match and more.Generous Time Off – Enjoy PTO based on tenure, 13 paid holidays and 1 floating holiday.Ongoing Learning and Development - Quarterly summits, town hall meetings and continuous training to support your professional growth.A Culture that Celebrates You - We believe in collaboration, recognition and having fun while doing important work.This summary is not an all-inclusive description of job duties.
