Registered Nurse – Med Surg, Fairfield, IA, United States. This travel assignment begins 08/10/2026 and runs for 13 weeks. Responsibilities
- Deliver total patient care for Med Surg patients using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders; monitor and respond to changes in patient status; document effectively.
- Direct and guide patient teaching, discharge planning, and education for patients and families.
- Coordinate with the interdisciplinary team and supervise ancillary personnel to maintain quality, safety, and infection control standards.
- Maintain accurate records, advocate for patient safety, and comply with professional standards and facility policies.
- Contribute to care planning and collaborate to ensure smooth transitions of care across shifts.

Requirements
- Current Iowa RN license in good standing
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- BLS and ACLS certification required (American Heart Association)
- Immunizations per policy: MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tdap; annual flu vaccine; TB testing (2-step Mantoux or QuantiFERON Gold) with appropriate documentation or chest X-ray if positive; current physical; 10-panel drug screen
- Experience preferred, but not required
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts in a hospital setting and rotate weekends/holidays as needed
