We are looking for an experienced executive to guide consumer lending strategy for a growing credit union based in Grand Blanc, Michigan. This leader will shape portfolio direction, strengthen credit performance, and use data-driven insights to uncover sustainable growth opportunities across the consumer lending business. The position blends high-level strategic oversight with leadership of teams and day-to-day lending functions, making it ideal for someone who brings both vision and operational discipline.
Responsibilities:• Define and lead the overall strategy for the consumer lending division, aligning portfolio goals with organizational growth objectives.
• Monitor loan portfolio trends, key performance indicators, and market conditions to improve production, profitability, and credit quality.
• Direct consumer lending activities across underwriting, indirect channels, and related operational functions to ensure consistent execution.
• Evaluate portfolio performance across products such as auto loans, indirect lending, home equity, second mortgages, leases, RV financing, and credit cards.
• Cultivate and manage productive relationships with dealership and indirect lending partners to support volume growth and portfolio health.
• Provide leadership and coaching to managers and staff, guiding 3 direct reports and a broader team of 32 employees.
• Develop forecasting models and analytical frameworks to support strategic planning, risk management, and lending decisions.
• Identify new opportunities for expansion within consumer lending by assessing market demand, product performance, and competitive dynamics.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• At least 10 years of experience in consumer lending within the banking or credit union industry.
• Minimum of 15 years of leadership experience with responsibility for teams, performance, and operational outcomes.
• Demonstrated success managing consumer lending portfolios and driving strategy, growth, and credit performance.
• Strong knowledge of consumer lending products, including auto, indirect, home equity, second mortgages, RV loans, leases, and credit cards.
• Experience using data analysis, forecasting, and performance metrics to guide business decisions.
• Proven ability to build strong teams and lead through growth in a fast-evolving financial services environment.
