Surveillance Operator I

Location: 5235 Ponderosa Way, Las Vegas, NV 89118
Pay Rate: $18.01 per hour
Assignment: 6-month contract with possible extension
Schedule: Saturday–Wednesday, 10:00 PM–6:30 AM
Lunch: 30-minute unpaid lunch
Work Arrangement: Fully onsite

Position Overview

Our client is seeking dependable and detail-oriented Surveillance Operators to join its Las Vegas Operations Center. This is a fully onsite, desk-based position responsible for monitoring live video surveillance feeds, identifying suspicious or unsafe activity, and responding appropriately through audio intervention and incident escalation.

Surveillance Operators monitor multiple properties nationwide using proprietary technology and coordinate with law enforcement, emergency responders, and property representatives as needed.

Please note:

• This is not a casino surveillance position.
• This position is not located on the Las Vegas Strip .
• The role requires continuous computer-based monitoring in a fast-paced, multi-monitor environment.
• Weekend availability is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor multiple live video surveillance feeds simultaneously.
• Identify unauthorized, suspicious, or unsafe activity in real time.
• Issue live audio warnings when appropriate.
• Contact law enforcement, first responders, or property representatives during active incidents.
• Prepare accurate and detailed incident reports.
• Navigate multiple monitors, software applications, and browser tabs concurrently.
• Maintain consistent vigilance, focus, and situational awareness throughout the shift.
• Escalate technical concerns to IT support when necessary.
• Follow all attendance, punctuality, performance, and operating procedures.
• Remain flexible to work up to 20 minutes beyond the scheduled shift when actively handling an incident or call.

Required Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English.
• Strong verbal communication skills and confidence communicating with law enforcement and property managers.
• Proficient computer skills, including the ability to navigate multiple applications and monitors simultaneously.
• Minimum typing speed of 40 words per minute .
• Strong attention to detail and situational awareness.
• Ability to remain seated and focused for extended periods.
• Ability to work effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Availability to work weekends.
• Ability to successfully complete all mandatory training requirements.

Preferred Experience

Experience in one or more of the following areas is highly preferred:

• Call center operations
• Dispatching or emergency communications
• Surveillance monitoring
• Loss prevention
• Fast-paced operations environments
• Video gaming or other multi-screen environments requiring quick reactions and multitasking

Mandatory Training Requirement

All new hires, regardless of assigned shift, must complete mandatory training on the following schedule:

Training Schedule: Saturday–Wednesday, 6:00 PM–11:00 PM
Duration: Two weeks

Candidates must be fully available and committed to the complete training schedule. Failure to meet this requirement may result in withdrawal of the employment offer. Training may be extended to a third week if additional time is needed to successfully complete the training requirements.

Supplier requirement: Please confirm the candidate’s availability for the full training schedule before submission.

First-Day Onboarding Schedule

New-hire onboarding will take place:

Tuesday–Friday, 12:00 PM–4:30 PM

Additional onboarding details will be provided after offer acceptance.

Interview Process

The onsite interview process is expected to take approximately one hour and includes:

1. 30-minute interview
2. 30-minute job-shadow session

Work Environment

• Fast-paced Operations Center
• Multi-monitor workstation
• Heavy computer usage throughout the shift
• Climate-controlled office setting
• Structured schedule with limited flexibility
• Regular use of Microsoft applications and Google Workspace tools
• Occasional overtime may occur

Temporary Employment Information

This is a temporary position with the potential for conversion to full-time employment. Any temp-to-hire opportunity will be based on individual performance, attendance, attitude, and business needs. Full-time conversion is not guaranteed.

Management will conduct a performance review after approximately three months. This review does not guarantee an offer of full-time employment.
