Accounting Associate

Phi Theta Kappa is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented entry-level Accounting Associate to join our Financial Services team in Jackson, MS. This role is ideal for someone early in their accounting career who is eager tobuild hands-on experience in a supportive, team-oriented environment. You’ll gain exposure to a variety of core accounting functions including reconciliations, journal entries,and financial reporting while contributing to the financial operations of a mission-driven organization that supports student success. Ability to work effectively with diverse constituencies. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum of associate degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, or at least one year ofrelevant experience in basic accounting functions, including reconciliations, journal entries, andfinancial recordkeeping. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other basic computer applications. Strong attention to detail and ability to meet recurring deadlines. Willingness to learn new systems and processes WORK ENVIRONMENT Noise: This work environment is an office-like setting with moderate noise. Physical Exertion: The incumbent may frequently be required to lift approximately 10pounds and/or occasionally up to 25 pounds. Vision: The incumbent must possess close, midrange, distance and peripheral vision; as well as the ability to identify colors, judge distances, and adjust focus. Speaking/Hearing: The incumbent must be able to give and receive information throughspeaking and listening. Motor Coordination: The incumbent in this position is frequently required to: use their handsand reach with their hands and arms. The incumbent is occasionally required to: stand, walk,and stoop, kneel, crouch or bend.
