Senior Lead AI/ML Platform Engineer - AWS

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• Formal training or certification in software engineering, with at least five years of applied experience
• Industry experience as a platform engineer leading delivery of large-scale platform infrastructure
• Deep AWS expertise, including networking, scalability, multi-account architectures, and security
• Strong hands-on proficiency in Go or Python
• Advanced Terraform and HCL skills, including module design, state management, and multi-region, multi-account delivery
• Production experience operating Kubernetes or EKS at scale
• Hands-on experience deploying models and inference workloads with AWS SageMaker
• Strong DevOps background, including complex CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and deployment strategies
• Ability to work independently, make architectural decisions, and drive outcomes with minimal oversight
• Experience leading the effective use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools, and setting expectations for validating their outputs for correctness, performance, and security
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, resiliency, and security; experience coaching senior engineers or leads on compliant usage and controls
• Preferred: Experience benchmarking, evaluating, and optimizing LLM performance
• Preferred: Comfort with ambiguity and greenfield architecture
• Preferred: Security expertise in threat modeling, secure infrastructure design, and cloud-native compliance
• Preferred: Industry-recognized certifications, such as AWS Solutions Architect or AWS DevOps Engineer

• Set the architectural direction for platform components, including control-plane integration, multi-region deployment, and disaster recovery
• Design and implement APIs for retraining, scheduling, endpoint deployment, and autoscaling
• Build infrastructure that enables seamless integration between the control plane and client accounts
• Work directly with US-based clients to gather requirements, develop strategic solutions, and troubleshoot issues
• Make independent architectural decisions and manage technical tradeoffs with minimal oversight
• Provide technical guidance to the business, engineering teams, contractors, and vendors
• Influence product design, application functionality, technical operations, and processes
• Drive adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes
• Establish measurable validation standards for AI-assisted engineering, including secure coding, peer review, and automated testing, and promote reusable patterns and automation across the SDLC/TLM toolchain
• Apply software development lifecycle tools, including approved AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to increase the value of automation at scale
