Software Engineer - AI/ML Engineer

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, plus at least 3 years of applied experience
• Hands-on experience building and operating production large language model applications, including agentic patterns and tool integrations
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience delivering cloud-native services on AWS using containers and serverless designs
• Advanced Python programming skills and experience writing production-quality code
• Experience with retrieval-augmented generation, including embeddings, semantic search, and practical context engineering
• Proficiency building React-based front-end experiences integrated with backend APIs, with attention to reliability, security, and performance
• Experience contributing to or establishing evaluation, testing, and monitoring practices for AI system quality and reliability
• Ability to troubleshoot complex distributed-system issues, including asynchronous workflows and event-driven architectures
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, including the ability to explain technical decisions and trade-offs to partners
• Hands-on experience with enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools, and the ability to critically evaluate, validate, and refine AI-generated outputs for correctness, performance, and security
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and security and resiliency expectations; ability to guide peers in safe, effective use
• Preferred: Experience deploying and operating workloads on Kubernetes-based platforms and using container orchestration patterns
• Preferred: Experience with experimentation frameworks and automated regression testing for large language model quality
• Preferred: Familiarity with large language model cost governance and performance optimization, such as caching and context efficiency
• Preferred: Experience implementing guardrails for safe, reliable AI behavior in production
• Preferred: Experience building reusable platform components and reference implementations adopted by multiple teams

• Design and implement components for scalable, reliable agentic AI platforms supporting enterprise workflows
• Build production-grade AI systems with agents, skills, memory patterns, guardrails, and tool-use orchestration
• Implement retrieval and context-engineering approaches, including embeddings, semantic search, grounding, summarization, and prompt and version management
• Develop cloud-native AWS services using containers, serverless computing, and event-driven messaging
• Improve latency, throughput, scalability, caching, context efficiency, and cost across large language model workloads
• Build secure, reusable APIs and integrations connecting AI capabilities with enterprise platforms and workflows
• Implement evaluation, experimentation, regression testing, and observability to improve system quality and agent behavior
• Work with product, platform, and engineering teams to turn requirements into resilient, measurable deliverables
• Strengthen technical standards and code quality through design reviews, documentation, and peer reviews
• Use enterprise-authorized AI coding assistants and software development lifecycle tools to improve code quality, delivery speed, and automation; validate outputs through peer review, testing, and secure coding practices, and share reusable learnings with the team
