AI/ML Engineering Lead, VP - AI for Payments

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• We require a masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a closely related quantitative discipline.
• We look for at least 6 years of professional software engineering experience delivering production systems.
• We require 4 years of advanced Python development in production, including experience using AI-assisted coding tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code to improve throughput while maintaining code quality.
• We need 4 years of hands-on experience designing and deploying production machine learning systems on AWS, such as SageMaker, Lambda, ECS/EKS, or S3.
• We seek demonstrated success delivering AI/ML solutions at scale with measurable business impact.
• We require experience with object-oriented design, distributed systems, and performance engineering.
• We look for demonstrated experience building and deploying LLM-based applications, including retrieval-augmented generation and fine-tuning workflows.
• We require hands-on production experience with NLP, computer vision, OCR, or document AI solutions.
• We seek experience implementing MLOps practices using tools such as MLflow, Kubeflow, Airflow, feature stores, or model registries.
• We want demonstrated experience mentoring engineers and driving execution against multi-quarter roadmaps.
• We require strong communication skills, including the ability to translate business needs into technical deliverables for senior stakeholders.
• Preferred: experience delivering AI/ML solutions in wholesale payments, transaction banking, or financial services.
• Preferred: experience with model risk management frameworks, model governance, and responsible AI practices.
• Preferred: experience with Kubernetes and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.
• Preferred: experience with real-time or streaming inference use cases.
• Preferred: contributions to open-source machine learning ecosystems or peer-reviewed publications.

• We partner with senior business stakeholders to frame problems, define success metrics, and align AI/ML roadmaps with business priorities.
• We lead architecture, design, and end-to-end delivery of enterprise AI/ML solutions for Wholesale Payments Operations.
• We write clean, performant, production-quality code and help set engineering standards across the team.
• We champion modern SDLC, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.
• We deploy and operate AI/ML services on AWS at scale.
• We apply advanced techniques including data and text mining, document analysis, classification, OCR, NLP, and LLM workflows such as retrieval-augmented generation and fine-tuning.
• We design and implement scalable, secure data pipelines to support model training and inference.
• We define and enforce MLOps, model governance, monitoring, and responsible AI practices, and represent the team in architecture and risk forums.
• We evaluate model performance in production, including drift management and reproducibility.
• We mentor engineers, conduct code and design reviews, and support recruiting and talent development.
