Data Center Network Administrator (Mid-Level) Job Title: Data Center Network Administrator Experience Level: Mid-Level (3–7 years preferred) Department: Technical Operations Location: Miami-Fort Lauderdale, Florida About The Job Volico Data Centers is seeking a hands‑on Data Center Network Administrator to join our infrastructure team. This role combines network engineering and physical data center operations , including installing equipment, troubleshooting connectivity issues, and maintaining production network infrastructure. The ideal candidate has real operational experience managing production networks , not just theoretical knowledge. This position requires working with routing protocols, switching technologies, VPN solutions, and multi‑vendor network platforms , along with Linux and Windows systems in a production data center environment. Key Responsibilities Deploy, configure, and maintain data center network infrastructure Troubleshoot routing, switching, and connectivity issues across multiple network layers Configure and maintain secure VPN connectivity Perform rack and stack installation of servers, switches, routers, and firewalls Assist with fiber and copper cross‑connect provisioning and cabling Monitor network performance and resolve service‑impacting issues Implement routing policies and traffic engineering Maintain network diagrams and configuration documentation Work with systems teams supporting Linux and Windows environments Participate in maintenance windows and infrastructure upgrades Foundational Knowledge Preferred VXLAN BGP EVPN MPLS Equipment / Vendor Experience Hands‑on experience with at least two or more of the following platforms: Cisco Arista Fortinet Ubiquiti MikroTik Systems Experience (Required) Linux administration and networking fundamentals Windows Server administration and networking basics Ability to troubleshoot network connectivity from the system level Data Center Operations Experience Experience performing rack and stack installations Structured cabling and fiber patching Tracing and troubleshooting physical connectivity Experience working in data center or colocation environments Physical Requirements Ability to lift and install equipment such as servers, switches, routers, and firewalls (up to ~50 lbs) Comfortable working in rack environments and equipment rows Additional Preferred Skills Data center network design concepts (leaf‑spine architectures) Packet capture and network analysis tools (tcpdump, Wireshark) Network monitoring and telemetry systems Experience working with hosting providers, ISPs, or cloud infrastructure What We Offer Work with real production data center infrastructure Exposure to modern networking architectures Opportunity to grow into senior network engineering roles Competitive salary based on experience Comprehensive Medical and Dental plans Life insurance and 401(k) retirement plan Volico lounge and game room Employee Perk and Discount Program Casual wear, comfortable work environment Flexible work schedule with paid time off and sabbatical opportunities Training and tuition reimbursement and more If you are a hands‑on network professional who enjoys working with both network architecture and physical data center infrastructure, we encourage you to apply.
