This hybrid position is responsible for managing international air import shipments from origin through final delivery, ensuring compliance with customs regulations, carrier requirements, and customer expectations.

The ideal candidate will have experience in international freight forwarding, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple shipments in a fast-paced environment while delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage international air import shipments from arrival through final delivery.
• Monitor shipment status and proactively communicate updates, delays, and exceptions to customers and internal stakeholders.
• Prepare, review, and process import documentation, including air waybills, arrival notices, commercial invoices, packing lists, and related documents.
• Ensure timely customs clearance by coordinating with customs brokers and government agencies as required.
• Arrange trucking, warehouse transfers, and final-mile delivery services.
• Verify shipment details, billing information, and vendor invoices for accuracy.
• Maintain accurate shipment records and update transportation management systems.
• Resolve shipment discrepancies, service issues, and claims in a timely and professional manner.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with airlines, overseas agents, customers, truckers, and service providers.
• Ensure compliance with TSA, CBP, FDA, USDA, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in air import operations within an international freight forwarding environment.
• Working knowledge of international air freight procedures and import documentation.
• Familiarity with U.S. Customs regulations and import clearance processes.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Outlook.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
