Senior Counsel (Environmental) ‑ #26‑74286 Los Angeles, California, United States Work Schedule: HYBRID – Work a combination of onsite and remote days each week, typically 4 days per week onsite. Primary Purpose Advises on complex legal issues and develops practical solutions that balance risk management with strategic business priorities. Duties and Responsibilities Creates innovative legal solutions to facilitate business growth while managing compliance and risk exposure. Leads the provision of legal advice on aspects of strategic initiatives while driving cross‑functional alignment. Resolves disputes with regulatory agencies, ensuring compliance while minimizing financial penalties and reputational damage. Develops contract templates and negotiation strategies for standard and high‑risk business agreements. Oversees and develops legal strategies and coordinates with external counsel to resolve disputes. Advises on employment law, intellectual property, data protection, and general corporate matters. Implements a structured system for tracking legal documentation. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education Required: Juris Doctor (J.D.) or Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree and active membership in the California Bar or another U.S. state Bar. Experience Required: 8 years of related experience. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Legal Drafting – prepares written legal documents. Required: Contract Management – streamlining the creation, execution, storage or renewal of contracts. Required: Legal Research – identifying and retrieving information necessary to support legal decision‑making. Required: Legal Advisory – providing an opinion regarding the substance or procedure of the law. Required: Regulatory Compliance – ensuring adherence to laws, regulations, guidelines and specifications. Required: Litigation Management – settling a dispute in a court of law. Required: Corporate Governance – mechanisms, processes and relations used to control and operate a corporation. Required: Legal Due Diligence – assessing legal risks associated with a business transaction. Required: Documentation and Records Management – creating, distributing, using and maintaining recorded information. Required: Commercial Negotiation – planning and analyzing activities that a buyer and seller conduct to reach an agreement.
