Payroll Assistant

Our corporate team supports community leaders and employees so they can focus on what matters most: our residents.Position SummaryWe’re looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Assistant to support accurate, timely payroll operations across our communities. In this role, you’ll process employee status changes, maintain payroll records, respond to payroll questions, and serve as backup payroll processor. This is a great fit for someone who enjoys precision, problem-solving, and being a reliable resource for employees and leaders.BenefitsCompetitive PayPaid Time Off401k planEmployee Assistance ProgramMedical, Dental, Vision, and Life InsuranceKey ResponsibilitiesReview and approve Personnel Action Forms (PAFs) for new hires, rehires, terminations, transfers, and other status changes to ensure accuracy and policy compliance.Process timecard correction requests and maintain accurate employee payroll records.Respond to payroll inquiries from employees, managers, and community leadership by phone and email.Submit and monitor wage garnishments through our payroll vendor in compliance with court orders and applicable regulations.Serve as backup payroll processor when the Payroll Manager is unavailable, assisting with payroll preparation, review, and processing.Create and maintain position seats in the HRIS as staffing needs change.Review transactions to support payroll data integrity and general payroll administration.Partner with Human Resources, department leaders, and payroll vendors to resolve payroll and employee record issues.Assist with payroll auditsQualifications1–2 years of payroll, HR, or related administrative experience required.Experience with Paycom or a similar HRIS/payroll system preferred.Working knowledge of multi-state payroll, garnishments, and wage and hour regulations a plus.Strong attention to detail and accuracy with numbers.Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.Clear, professional communication skills and a customer-service mindset.Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Outlook. #J-18808-Ljbffr Avista Senior Living
