The Rhode Island Right to Read Act was passed in July of 2019 and requires educators to exhibit either proficiency in or awareness of the knowledge and practices of the Science of Reading and Structured Literacy. Please be advised that this position requires Structured Literacy Awareness Level within one year of hire. Under direction of the school Building Administrator, the Teach college preparatory high school courses pertaining to the application of physical laws and analysis related to engineering, introduce different disciplines of engineering, such as chemical, civil, electrical, industrial, mechanical, mineral, ocean and petroleum engineering. Develop and teach material related to the engineering of automated machines, manufacturing processes, services. The Healthcare Academy at Alvarez is a program within the Career and Technical Education Healthcare Career Cluster. The program was approved by RIDE in June 2022. Under the direction of the Principal/Assistant Principal, the CTE Healthcare Teacher: Facilitates student comprehension and application of concepts skills and behaviors that contributes to core academic and technical skill proficiency, culminating in an industry credential or certifications and/or post‑secondary credit(s). Provides a strong foundation in the Healthcare field. Provides simulated work environments for students to apply industry skills using all industry equipment and supplies. Facilitates workplace experience for students in partnership with hospitals, nursing homes and other clinical settings. Ensure students meet RIDE certification requirements for CTE program We serve approximately 22,000 students at 37 elementary, middle, and high schools. Approximately 55% of students come from homes where English is not the primary language spoken. Combined, our students and families speak 55 different languages and hail from 91 countries of origin.
