MDM Software Application Development Engineer [Remote]

This role focuses on designing, developing, and optimizing enterprise Master Data Management (MDM) solutions within a complex SAP S/4HANA ecosystem. You will act as a technical expert responsible for shaping scalable, secure, and high-performance data architectures that support critical business operations. The position combines hands-on development with solution design, system integration, and cross-functional collaboration across IT, product, and business teams. You will play a key role in translating business requirements into robust technical solutions while improving data governance, consistency, and system reliability. Operating in a high-impact enterprise environment, you will also contribute to modernization initiatives, including large-scale SAP transformations and migrations. This role is ideal for a strong technical leader who thrives in solving complex data and integration challenges at scale.

Accountabilities

• Design and develop SAP MDG and S/4HANA-based Master Data Management solutions aligned with business and technical requirements.
• Define scalable, secure, and resilient architecture decisions covering performance, usability, availability, and system integrity.
• Translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications and ensure successful system implementation.
• Configure system settings and support unit, integration, and acceptance testing across MDM solutions.
• Lead technical analysis and development of SAP master data objects including Material, BOM, Routing, Work Center, and Production Versions.
• Collaborate with product owners, project managers, and technical teams to prioritize and deliver solution enhancements.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and drive root-cause analysis with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Support system integrations across SAP and non-SAP environments using IDoc, ALE, and related frameworks.
• Participate in SAP transformation initiatives, including large-scale data migration, cleansing, and harmonization programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in SAP MDG and S/4HANA solution design, configuration, and development (or equivalent advanced experience).
• Strong hands-on expertise in ABAP, SAP Fiori, S/4HANA, ALE, IDoc processing, and SQL.
• Experience working with SAP master data domains such as Material, BOM, Routing, Work Center, and Production Versions.
• Proven experience in at least one large-scale SAP MDM or S/4HANA migration or transformation program.
• Strong understanding of enterprise data architecture, integration patterns, and system interoperability.
• Experience with data governance, data cleansing, data mapping, and master data standards is highly desirable.
• Ability to work in complex, high-pressure environments with multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.
• Experience in semiconductor or highly regulated industries is a plus.
