Job Title: Forklift Operator / Materials Handler (2nd Shift) Job Description

This role operates stand-up and sit-down forklifts to safely move, load, unload, and stage materials in a heavy industrial environment. The Forklift Operator / Materials Handler supports production by transporting materials, maintaining accurate inventory, and following all safety and quality procedures on 2nd shift.

• Operate stand-up and sit-down forklifts and other industrial trucks safely and efficiently to move products, equipment, and materials throughout the facility.
• Use levers and pedals to drive the truck and control the lifting apparatus, including forks, clamps, elevating platforms, and other attachments as needed.
• Load and unload materials onto and off pallets, skids, and other lifting devices, ensuring safe and stable stacking and tiering of materials.
• Unload and stack materials by raising and lowering the lifting device while maintaining control and awareness of surroundings.
• Inventory materials on the work floor and support accurate material counts for production and storage areas.
• Weigh materials or products and record weights on tags, labels, or production schedules to support accurate documentation.
• Ensure all containers have correct tags and identification prior to moving or staging materials.
• Perform daily safety and operational checks on forklifts and related equipment, documenting findings as required.
• Lubricate trucks, recharge batteries, fill fuel tanks, or replace liquefied gas tanks to keep equipment in proper working condition.
• Operate all machinery and equipment according to company standards and procedures while consistently using required safety equipment such as gloves, sleeves, and ear protection.
• Maintain clean and orderly work areas, including aisles, staging zones, and storage locations.
• Assist with departmental operations and material handling tasks wherever necessary to support production and shipping activities.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities and support initiatives to enhance safety, efficiency, and quality.
• Adhere to TS and ISO standards and procedures in all work activities.
• Maintain punctual and regular attendance and follow all company policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor to support overall plant operations.

• Proven experience operating stand-up forklifts in an industrial or warehouse environment.
• Proven experience operating sit-down forklifts in an industrial or warehouse environment.
• Demonstrated ability to perform material handling tasks, including loading, unloading, stacking, and staging materials.
• Ability to operate forklifts and industrial trucks safely and efficiently in accordance with company standards and safety procedures.
• Experience using RF scanners for inventory, tracking, or material movement.
• Ability to perform basic inventory activities, including counting and recording materials on the work floor.
• Capability to perform daily safety and operational checks on forklifts and related equipment.
• Ability to work 2nd shift hours (approximately 1:00 p.m. to 9:15 p.m.).
• Strong attention to detail to ensure correct tagging, labeling, and documentation of materials.
• Ability to follow TS and ISO standards and procedures.
• Commitment to punctual and regular attendance.

• Experience working in a heavy industrial or metal stamping environment.
• Familiarity with TS and ISO quality and process standards.
• Comfort working around large industrial presses and high-volume production operations.
• Willingness to participate in continuous improvement activities.
• Ability to work collaboratively with production and warehouse teams and assist in other departmental tasks as needed.

The role is based in a heavy industrial facility with several very large metal stamping presses and a high volume of material movement. The site employs a few hundred people and operates with structured production and material handling processes. Work is performed on 2nd shift, typically from 1:00 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. The position requires regular use of stand-up and sit-down forklifts, RF scanners, and other industrial material handling equipment. Employees must use required personal protective equipment such as gloves, sleeves, and ear protection and are expected to maintain clean, orderly work areas while adhering to all safety and operational procedures.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lebanon, TN.

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
