Lab Support Engineer
We are seeking a hands-on Lab Support Engineer to support hardware testing, lab automation, robotics, and reliability activities within an engineering development environment. This role combines electro-mechanical testing with LabVIEW/Python automation, data acquisition, automated test systems, and day-to-day lab operations. The ideal candidate is comfortable working across hardware and software and can troubleshoot complex test setups while supporting multiple development programs.

Scope:
• Set up, configure, and execute hardware reliability, environmental, mechanical, and stress testing.
• Develop, maintain, and execute automated test routines and DAQ sequences using LabVIEW, Python, C++, or similar tools.
• Integrate, program, and troubleshoot robotic fixtures, actuators, PLCs, and automated test stations.
• Configure sensors, instrumentation, drivers, firmware, and network connections supporting laboratory equipment.
• Operate test equipment including thermal/humidity chambers, vibration systems, Instron testers, oscilloscopes, DMMs, DAQs, and related instrumentation.
• Troubleshoot test anomalies, sensor issues, automation failures, and equipment problems.
• Support hardware testing throughout EVT, DVT, and PVT development phases.
• Analyze test data and develop reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate results.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, test procedures, work instructions, and automation documentation.
• Support lab operations including equipment calibration, safety, test-cell organization, and maintenance.

Required:
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of experience in hardware testing, lab automation, instrument control, reliability testing, or test bench development.
• Hands-on experience with LabVIEW for instrument control, sensor interfacing, or automated data acquisition.
• Experience with robotics or automation systems such as robotic arms, linear actuators, PLCs, motor controllers, or automated fixtures.
• Experience with environmental, mechanical, or reliability testing using equipment such as thermal chambers, vibration tables, or Instron systems.
• Experience with electrical instrumentation including oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supplies, sensors, thermocouples, and DAQ systems.
• Experience with Python, C/C++, MATLAB, or similar scripting/programming tools.
• Strong troubleshooting, data analysis, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings and work hands-on with electro-mechanical test setups.

Pluses:
• CLAD, CLD, or other LabVIEW certification.
• 5+ years of experience with lab automation, robotics, or reliability testing.
• Experience developing custom LabVIEW/Python test GUIs or automated test benches.
• Experience integrating test systems with databases or dashboards.
• Familiarity with RS-232/485, CAN, Modbus, Ethernet/IP, GPIB, I2C, SPI, or similar communication protocols.
• Experience supporting fast-paced hardware development and EVT/DVT/PVT environments.

Estimated Min Rate : $30.00
Estimated Max Rate : $40.00/hr. Depends on work experience
