About the Neurosurgical ICU The NSU specializes in the care of critically ill patients with neurological injuries and/or disorders. We are a comprehensive stroke center, as well as Level 1 Trauma. We continually strive for zero harm with our patients, and adjust our practices to achieve best outcomes by reducing infection rates. Weekender Position Individuals hired for a Weekender position are required to work two (2) 12‑hour shifts between 7:00 PM Friday and 7:00 AM Monday. In return for this commitment, Weekenders will be compensated at 1.5 times their regular hourly rate for these shifts. Individuals in Weekender roles qualify for full‑time medical and dental benefits, whereas eligibility for all other benefits is at part‑time levels.
