Work Environment

This position is based onsite at a school facility in Naples, Florida, where you will work closely with teachers, parents, and school administrators to monitor and enhance student health. The work setting promotes a collaborative environment where you will be surrounded by a multidisciplinary team dedicated to supporting the health needs of children and adolescents. Most hours will be Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing you to enjoy evenings and weekends free for personal time.

Key Responsibilities

As a Nurse Practitioner at Brick-Wall MD, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Conducting thorough patient assessments, including taking detailed medical histories and performing comprehensive physical examinations to identify health concerns.
• Managing and monitoring chronic diseases such as asthma, diabetes, and allergies, and creating individualized care plans tailored to each patient's needs.
• Ordering, interpreting, and explaining laboratory results to patients and their families, ensuring they understand the implications of their health status.
• Prescribing medications with precision while monitoring their effectiveness and addressing any potential side effects or interactions.
• Collaborating closely with physicians, school nurses, and other health professionals to coordinate comprehensive care for each student.
• Educating patients and their caregivers on managing chronic conditions and promoting preventive healthcare practices.
• Developing strong relationships with students, parents, and school staff to facilitate effective treatment delivery and engage in health promotion activities.
• Encouraging healthy lifestyle changes among students to promote overall well-being and prevent illness.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role focuses on the pediatric population in a school setting, managing health concerns and promoting wellness among children and adolescents. You'll be instrumental in creating a safe and supportive environment, addressing both physical and mental health issues, and guiding students toward healthier lives.

Qualifications

To excel in this position, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

• A Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) or a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from an accredited institution.
• A valid, unrestricted Florida Nurse Practitioner license.
• Board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (AGNP) along with relevant specialty certifications.
• An active DEA registration with prescriptive authority to provide medications to patients.
• Strong clinical and diagnostic skills, ensuring accurate assessments and effective treatment plans.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for fostering connections with patients, families, and colleagues.

Preferred Experience

While 2 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner is required, we prefer candidates who have demonstrated experience in outpatient or primary care settings, especially those that involve pediatric care. Familiarity with school health services and public health initiatives is an advantage.
