Core Responsibilities The Maine Health and Environmental Testing Laboratory (HETL) Finance Team is looking for an Inventory & Property Associate I to complete ordering of supplies and tracking for laboratorians and processing of inventory in a precise manner. The HETL provides and oversees analytical testing of clinical, environmental, and forensic specimens/samples/evidence to provide surveillance data to monitor public and environmental health. The collected data is used to make policy decisions and emergency corrective actions statewide. As a key member of the HETL Finance team, your core responsibilities will include: Sort and match packing slips and invoices verifying and reconciling against vendor statements Entry of capital equipment into databases Answer inquiries from vendors regarding account balances Create computerized requisitions, purchase orders and delivery orders upon request Oversee and maintain a computerized inventory control system Type routine business documents as form letters and/or memos Collaborate with management to complete necessary projects Work independently on delegated tasks Identify inaccuracies in vendor database Maintain organizational-wide supply request spreadsheet Fulfilling necessary supply requests Provide support regarding HETL orders to laboratorians Facilitate the proper distribution of samples within the laboratory Minimum Qualifications Training, education or experience in office and administrative support work that demonstrates 1) competency in applying a solid knowledge of inventory and property management principles to perform complex work in conducting inventory operations for a warehouse or stockroom and 2) the ability to use independent judgment in handling exceptions to established work assignments, priorities and schedules. All positions in this classification assume the qualifications of: Inventory and Property Assistant.
