CNC Machinist — Synventive Engineering

Position Overview

Synventive Engineering is seeking a skilled and detail‐oriented CNC Machinist to join our precision manufacturing team. This role is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machines to produce high‐quality components that meet exact engineering specifications. The ideal candidate brings technical expertise, strong problem‐solving skills, and a commitment to accuracy, safety, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and related equipment according to production requirements.
• Interpret and work from engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD models.
• Perform machine offsets, tool changes, and program adjustments to maintain part accuracy.
• Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measurement tools.
• Maintain tight tolerances and ensure all parts meet Synventive Engineering’s quality standards.
• Troubleshoot machining issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor machine performance and perform routine maintenance to ensure optimal operation.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve processes and reduce downtime.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company policies.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Proficiency with CNC machine setup, operation, and basic programming (Fanuc, Haas, or similar controls).
• Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling, feeds, speeds, and materials.
• Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and GD&T.
• Experience with precision measurement tools and quality inspection processes.
• Solid mechanical aptitude and problem‐solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‐paced environment.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with multi‐axis machining.
• Knowledge of CAD/CAM software (Mastercam, Fusion 360, or similar).
• Background in high‐precision or high‐volume production environments.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
• Manual dexterity and attention to detail required for precision work.
