CNC Programmer Machinist
The CNC Programmer Machinist will play a key role in programming, setting up, and producing precision machined components using advanced 4 and 5 axis CNC milling machines and mill turn lathes.
Job Duties
- Program multi axis CNC equipment using Mastercam for 4 and 5 axis milling and mill turn lathes, ensuring efficient toolpaths and optimized cycle times.
- Perform complete machine setups including first article runs, tooling selection, work holding, and verification of machining operations.
- Interpret engineering drawings and 3D CAD models to produce high precision components that meet aerospace and medical grade tolerances.
- Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve machining issues, support root cause analysis, and maintain strict compliance with customer specifications.
- Manage job flow and scheduling on assigned machines to meet production deadlines and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Required and Preferred Skills
- 5+ years CNC programming and machining experience with strong proficiency in Mastercam for multi axis milling.
- Hands on experience with 4 and 5 axis mills and mill turn lathes, including setup, tooling, and troubleshooting.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, GD&T, and 3D models in SolidWorks; AutoCAD experience preferred.
- Strong problem solving and attention to detail with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced precision manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as Epicor is a plus.
