Job Title: CICU/CVICU Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: CVICU Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Rotating Night/Days Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years required License: Active RN state license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, CPI required; NIHSS and CCRN preferred Must-Have: - Strong skill and experience in CVICU - Experience with IABP and Impella Description: The position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit. This role requires managing patients with complex cardiac conditions. Experience in cardiogenic shock, cardiac arrest, heart failure, and arrhythmias is essential. Candidates should be familiar with mechanical support devices including IABP and Impella. Bedside procedures such as central line insertions, bronchoscopy, and chest tube insertion will be performed. Continuous patient monitoring and critical care assessments are part of the responsibilities. Collaboration with an interdisciplinary team is required for optimal patient outcomes. Flexibility to float to lower acuity areas is necessary. Weekend and holiday shifts are mandatory as scheduled. The nurse will care for adult and geriatric patients, with an average daily census of 10. Patient ratios may vary from 1:1 to 1:3 for stable patients. Knowledge of charting systems is required for effective documentation. Candidates should be prepared to work in a fast-paced environment that demands high levels of critical thinking and clinical skills.
