Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Job Summary Heavy Equipment Mechanic. Responsible for repairs and maintenance on large construction equipment. Pay: $30-35 an hour based on experience. Shift Details Day: Monday-Friday (Saturdays as needed), 6am-6pm Night: Monday-Friday, 6pm-6am Minimal travel is associated with this role. Duties and Responsibilities Diagnose and repair transmissions, engines, differentials, electrical and hydraulic components. Utilize a laptop for information and diagnostic purposes for safe assembly and disassembly of components. Write and complete service reports. Participate in company training programs. Perform other duties as assigned. Education and Experience Two-year technical degree in diesel technology, heavy equipment mechanics, or similar preferred. 5+ years' experience preferred. Skills and Abilities Use hand tools, air tools, test equipment, powered shop tools, and overhead crane. Operate a variety of types of equipment. Diagnose and repair diesel engines. Maintain, diagnose, and repair equipment electrical systems. Hydraulic troubleshooting. Use hydraulic and electrical schematics. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on heavy equipment. Crane knowledge a plus. Ability to properly document work completed. Desire to take on new challenges.
