Position Overview
We are seeking a highly autonomous, channel-fluent, and structure-driven Freelance Website Copywriter / Content Strategist to join our trusted global freelance network under a project-based, contract remote configuration open across New Zealand, the United Kingdom, United States, Australia, Serbia, and beyond. In this high-leverage narrative engineering seat, you will act as the core link combining content-first design principles with polished digital copy. Moving entirely away from routine non-regulated administrative data transcription loops, entry-level helpdesk ticketing, or basic content spin logs, you will operate an active cross-functional messaging framing, low-fidelity wireframe layout, and search engine/answer engine optimization (SEO/AEO) strategy laboratory. Partnering directly beside project designers inside interactive toolsets, you will map out website messaging architectures from initial client concepts through final design handoff. This position is best suited for an experienced writer who creates digital narratives fluidly natively using Copywriter, Content Writer, and Figma primitives, possesses deep flexibility to handle incoming project waves, and provides a portfolio displaying clear versatility across complex business models.
Key Responsibilities
- Website Copy Optimization Governance: Research, draft, and polish high-converting website copy across various industries and B2B/B2C client brands natively utilizing Copywriter best practices.
- Narrative & Messaging Strategy Control: Partner closely next to project designers to develop structural client-facing narrative strategies, concepts, and messaging frameworks.
- Low-Fidelity Wireframe Instrumentation: Translate brand objectives into clear structural copy maps, producing scannable content outlines and low-fidelity blocks to guide design execution teams natively using Figma .
- SEO & AEO Performance Triage: Architect on-page text setups optimized for premium visibility across both legacy search indexing (SEO) and modern AI-assisted answer engines (AEO).
- Interactive Sourcing Operations: Author and manage draft lifecycles entirely within shared cloud layouts, executing all copywriting versions directly inside visual interfaces alongside designer cells.
- Client Presentation Synthesis: Lead executive-level content strategy workshops or walk complex client stakeholders through custom narrative proposals with clarity and conviction.
- Voice Modification & Copy Editing: Shift tone profiles smoothly across diverse vertical boundaries while maintaining absolute sharpness, messaging continuity, and conversion intent.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Demonstrated professional track record operating as a Website Copywriter, Content Strategist, Brand Narrative Architect, Digital Copy Editor, or closely matching tech-enabled technical writing capacity.
- Expert Creative Layout Command: Production-grade operational literacy creating copy blocks, editing strings, and arranging content structures natively inside Figma spaces.
- Deep working understanding of core content-first design principles, search engine algorithms, and how text layout variations directly impact user retention metrics.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication strengths in English, with a documented history detailing technical copy decisions or positioning complex industry offerings simply.
- Application Submission Requirements: To be considered, you must include your baseline hourly rate metrics for copy work, your strategy rate metrics (clearly stating currency), a short background note positioning your experience tier from junior to senior, and a direct link to your active portfolio layout.
