Velocity Physical Therapy is seeking a dedicated and innovative Staff Physical Therapist to join our team in Deerfield Beach, Florida. This full-time position is focused on delivering high-quality orthopedic therapy to our diverse patient population. The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients with musculoskeletal conditions while collaborating with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.

Work Environment

This position is onsite within a dynamic hospital environment where our team of healthcare providers works closely to ensure seamless coordination of care. The work hours are Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a balanced work-life. The clinic is equipped with state-of-the-art rehabilitation tools and technologies that aid in delivering exceptional therapy services.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient evaluations within twenty-four (24) hours of physician referrals to initiate timely care.
• Develop personalized treatment plans that align with each patient’s healthcare goals and obtain necessary physician approvals.
• Administer therapeutic interventions such as manual therapy, exercise therapy, and modalities, ensuring adherence to the prescribed plan of care.
• Supervise and mentor Physical Therapy Assistants in direct patient care, fostering a collaborative and educational environment.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient evaluations, treatment sessions, progress notes, and discharge planning, following best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Actively participate in interprofessional care conferences and contribute to discussions that enhance patient treatment strategies.
• Provide training and support to nursing staff and patient families regarding post-therapy home exercise programs and mobility aids.
• Monitor and report on the performance of rehabilitation equipment, ensuring it remains in optimal working condition for patient safety and effectiveness.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Staff Physical Therapist, you will primarily work with patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, and other musculoskeletal issues. The range of treatments may include rehabilitation for joint replacements, fractures, tendon repairs, and chronic pain management. Utilizing evidence-based practices, you will create a supportive and empowering environment that promotes patient engagement in their healing journey.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current and valid Florida State Licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA).
• Strong documentation skills and understanding of treatment protocols in line with state and federal regulations.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with patients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
• A strong capacity for multi-tasking and time management in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Preferred Experience

• Two years of outpatient orthopedic experience, emphasizing manual therapy and exercise-based rehabilitation.
• Familiarity with patient-centered care practices and a commitment to delivering quality services.
• A proactive approach to personal and professional growth, with a passion for continuing education in physical therapy methodologies.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary ranging from $90,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additionally, our comprehensive benefits package includes health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and professional development opportunities.
