We are immediately seeking a Purchasing Specialist!
Responsibilities of the Purchasing Specialist:
- Purchase raw materials, components, packaging, and operating supplies for a manufacturing operation
- Create, manage, and follow up on purchase orders in an ERP system (Sage 100)
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate material availability with production schedules
- Receive materials and verify packing slips, invoices, and receiving paperwork
- Build supplier relationships, track vendor performance, and resolve pricing or delivery discrepancies
- Coordinate domestic and international shipments, including freight, container tracking, and import/export documentation
Qualifications of the Purchasing Specialist:
- 35 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems; Sage 100 a plus
- Background in supplier negotiations, inventory control, and supply chain processes
- Import/export and freight coordination experience preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
- Strong organization, attention to detail, and clear communication in a fast-paced environment
Pay & Schedule:
- $23.50 $25.50 per hour, depending on experience
- 30 hours/week: 8:00 AM 2:30 PM, or 40 hours/week: 8:00 AM 4:30 PM (30-minute lunch)
- Immediate start following the interview process
